“ We wanted to try this spot because a lot of people we knew recommended it. It was better than I expected. We ordered the platter for two that has a little bit of everything. Service was good and it was a simple restaurant with booth seating and table seating. There wasn’t a wait, they were pretty quick to seat us and also serve us. If you want some authentic Laotian food, this is the place for it. Great for small or large parties. Come check it out if you’re in the area. Till then, let’s snack! ”

“ Warm, flavorful, healthy food was the mission I was on yesterday and I found not just the best Lao Cuisine I have enjoyed but the warmest welcome from the server who was so excited to share the menu. To top off warm food and service the little corner restaurant itself was warm with a greenery and art depicting the country of Laos on the walls. I loved being here and enjoying my red coconut curry vermicelli soup!! Oh it was excellent. ”

“ Awesome experience across the board. Cool and casual environment. Spring rolls were perfect. The sausage bites/balls were unique (to my non Laotian palette at least) and tasty. The pork belly LAAP was phenomenal. We got the medium spice which was perfect for us and not too spicy, but probably equivalent to an American hot. The pork ribs were very good, but could have been a tiny bit more tender. Good portion sizes and fair prices. Overall would recommend everything we had and will definitely be coming back. ”

“ What looks like an assuming spot nestled into the building on Venture Drive between the hotel, McDonalds, and BP, actually opens up into a beautiful restaurant with greenery, wonderful decor and lovely patio seating. The flavor is something very crave-able - well seasoned protein, lots of veggies, bright sauces, it feels healthy and satisfying. We got the chicken laap, fried chicken skins, chicken lao sausage, pork belly, chicken salad and thai teas. Their thai teas are delicious, almost smoky flavor and sweet! My friend says he orders the pork belly everytime, it's simply that good. The sticky rice is offered but honestly with most of the dishes you don't need to order it as a side, they are filling enough by themselves. Service was nice, welcoming. They were busy with half of the tables inside beginning to fill up on a Wednesday afternoon right after opening. Good for them! ”

“ Snackboxe Bistro is a Michelin recommended Laotian restaurant in the bustling Duluth food scene on Pleasanthill Rd. It’s in an unassuming plaza with plenty of parking. I was expecting a crowded place on a Saturday evening, but was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away and the place was not too crowded. The servers were sweet and friendly. And the ambiance was chill with all the Laotian decor. Songs from current top artists like Ariana, Drake, SZA, the Weeknd, etc. were playing on the stereo speakers. It was as if everyone there was transported to a hip restaurant in Laos. Now the foods are the star of the restaurant, and deservedly so. Believe the hype, everyone, because it’s true. Everything my group ordered was well priced and tasted impressive. 1) I recommend the 38 platter for a sample of the Laotian cuisines (papaya salad, chicken, crispy pork, sausage, noodles, etc.). 2) The nam khao with pork is different than any Asian dish I’ve had. It’s a crispy rice salad with chunks for pork and herbs mixed in. 3) The larb or “laap” is a Laotian national dish consisting of minced meat (pork belly, fish, chicken, etc). It’s paired well with sticky rice and veggies. We had the pork belly and it tasted exquisite. Now, it’s a little on the salty side, but I think that’s why it’s eaten with the sticky rice. 4) The Khao Poon (red curry noodles) is well seasoned and flavorful. If you’re a fan of curry, you’ll love it! 5) The only miss for me is the famous pandan brownie. It’s like the Laotian version of the chocolate lava cake with the ice cream scoops. The brownie tastes too sweet and lacks the familiar pandan flavor I was excited about. At least the ice cream was not too sweet. I still enjoyed it though. With a well priced menu, good service, and delicious foods, it’s not hard to see why Michelin recommends this restaurant. I will definitely be back to try the other tasty options! ”

“ Excellent flavors. Awesome waitstaff. Only went because it's on the Michelin recommended list. It's so great that you get to try new places and experience unique food because of this. Had the jeow bong sauced wings and the nam khao pork. Both were very good, but the wings made my eyes light up biting into them. Atmosphere is meh. The one server took care of everyone without missing a beat. I recommend taking friends as the portions are sizable and the cost is low. ”

“ One of the best tasting restaurants in the area. If you haven't tried the food, give it a chance. I recommend the bang bang shrimp, jerky (eat it with sticky rice), and the steak. If you want something to share then the platter is worth it. Plus you will get to try a lot of the stuff on the menu. ”
